Newcastle close in on £6.5m Liverpool ace?!?

Liverpool defender John Arne Riise is believed to be a £6.5 million target for Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan.



The Mirror are reporting that Keegan is hoping to add the Norwegian International to his squad at St James Park in a bid to solidify the clubs leaky defence.



The 27 year old star has already stated that he is happy at Anfield and wants to stay following speculation linking him with Aston Villa, however Newcastle look prepared to break the bank to land the players they want and Riise's head may be turned.



Riise has made 26 appearances for the Reds this season.
